Made from premium oak, these toasted oak spirals increase extraction of aroma, flavor, and tannin by their greater surface area. Add to barrels, tanks, or carboys. Suggested dose is 2 sticks per 6 gallons, but you can snap the spirals into smaller portions to adjust to taste. The big surface area of the spiral design allows a shorter pickup time of wood character, allowing adequate wood impact in a matter of 7 to 14 days of contact time. Full extraction of oak characteristics can be achieved in 6 weeks, but you can remove the spirals earlier if you want a milder oak flavor.
