    How do I apply the shrink band to the metal cap?

    Open the shrink band up, making a circle. Place the band overtop of your cap that is enclosed on the bottle. Use a heat gun or a hair dryer to shrink onto the outside of the cap.

    Will these caps seal and keep maple syrup? I have the bottles and lids. Do I need to water bath process the bottles with lids?

    The best way to seal these jars would be hot pack. Make sure jars and lids and clean and hot then pour your hot syrup into them and quickly apply the lid. As the syrup cools it will seal the jar. You can also add a shrink band for a 2nd layer of seal.
